Gabys Gourmandise

Chef Jean-Gabriel Farradon's food venture, a contemporary take on traditional French cuisine, Gaby's Gourmandize provides anything between a Quiche Lorraine and a Brookie (half brownie, half cookie).

The goal of this initial branding is to pay homage to the traditional French boulangerie while keeping a modern edge.

First, I started by sketching out some initial ideas on paper.

Then, refined them into a range of initial options to show the client and get a better idea of what he likes.

After several rounds of iterations, we eventually landed on a deep blue and white color pairing with a touch of golden brown gradient that every gourmand loves. The bespoke typography in the lockup is inspired by the classic French hand painted signs and art nouveau influence. The logotype is tied together with a golden plait reflecting embellishments inspired by hand-painted signage, representing the craftsmanship of a perfectly baked brioche pur beurre.
